This plot contains Draetrialis, Lin, Valerie, and (new) Sieltra (along with Darryn).
Valerie nearly killed Drae when he broke her heart and betrayed her but she loves him none-the-less. Draetrialis has won Valerie's heart but now she is wary of him and what he does. Draetrialis has changed, hopefully for good, to win Valerie in a secret relationship only Valerie, Lin and himself knows about. He left to the Shadowlands in search of another of his extremely rare type, Shadow Dragon. He succeeded in his task and brought Sieltra back, but is there going rivalry for Drae? Lin is the neutral dragon here and only wants what is best for her friend, Valerie, even if that means destroying Drae.

Valerie has found an old leather book and it turns out to be over 800 years old! The book is The lore of the Shadows of Light and it contains the history of the elusive (and mostly extinct) Shadow Dragons. But that is all that is in the book when Valerie finds it, since the section on the lore of the Light Dragons has been torn out. The Light Dragons are the Dragons that came before the Elemental Dragons that Ammon (and Rebellion) are today. So where did it go? Well the only conclusion the three of them (Lin, Valerie and Draetrialis) can think of is with Drae's long-lost brother. But the only problem is, his brother is in the Shadow Lands. So the trio must travel to the Shadow Lands to retrieve these pages (and Drae's brother) so they can reunite the book. The book might even hold the key to how Drae and his Brother are supposed to train, for the both have potential to becoming the Aspect. The Aspect is a Shadow Dragon with immense power that is only found in times of great need. Will Drae become Aspect and leave Valerie?
