Draetrialis growled, wings beginning to flare before he held them stiff against his sides. Sighing he rose and slinked over to where Valerie was, displaying an agility such a large creature shouldn't have. "I want to apologize. I do have a slight... issue, with insults... and steroid-lizard doesn't help!" He hissed, fangs bared. After a second, he closed his mouth and muttered, "I am impressed with how well you dealt with the... situation." At least he had the sense to not say they fought, knowing he wouldn't walk away if Valerie got in trouble for most of his actions. "How about a truce...? For the time being. Long enough for my wings to heal and for the... damage, to be repaired." He offered, extending a claw. "I know you're reasonable, and I... can work around my own personality to an extent... all I ask right now is that you don't push your luck..." he added, his eyes dimming as he went against all that his past taught him. His tail curled around and he fidgeted his wings slightly, obviously uncomfortable offering such a deal. "Please... for both of our sakes..." he whispered, eyes dark.

"Please... for both of our sakes..." Valerie smirked. So, the steroid-lizard wants to call a truce...he may have only said temporarily but I would have trusted him even less (if that's possible) if he had called permanent truce. I would never, ever fully trust this arrogant thing. But if he feels that is best, I think we might have a deal, and who knows, maybe I can get Lin or another person in the castle to spy on him. But of course, he shouldn't have that much of a grudge on me, since all I did was damage his fragile wings. She held in her snicker as she saw him extend a clawed-hand, offering a claw-shake. She stood up and slipped into her Dragon-form, cautious that he might use the hand gesture as an advantage against her. "I think, we have a deal. I mean your hopeless pleading sure was a nice show. So it's settled, instead of Steroid-lizard, I'll call you....Mr. Fruity!" She laughed as she stabbed one of the larger pieces of fruit from her second plate and popped it into her maw. "Don't worry, I'm just kidding! Lighten up, I'm going to call you by your name, Drae!" She said as cheerily as she could, dropping the insult right on top of him, wondering if he'd even notice. I want to make sure that when ever I'm around him, I'm in my Dragon form. Just because he wants to 'make friends' doesn't mean that I'm going to trust him. I think even if I hadn't been hardened by my life in the slums of the streets, I still wouldn't trust him. He's just too suspicious. She thought as she popped another fruit into her maw with her claw.

Drae brought his face close to Valerie's. "Nobody. Calls. Me. Drae. Nobody has for a hundred years, and nobody will." He said before turning, climbing up a wall to do so, and he stalked off, trying to resist the urge to flay the dragoness right then and there. She has a lot of guts to call me that... nobody has called me that since I was a hatchling... his mind was reeling. He knew that Valerie didn't trust him, but he couldn't think of another reason, besides to drive him nuts, except trust, for Valerie to call him that. Maybe... yes... I will do that... but I have to prepare the sapphire first. he laughed to himself as he took off, feeling a plan form in his mind. He flew to the lake and dived under and into his cave. He dug around in his gem trove and pulled out two diamonds and some gold. Using a mold, he melted the gold and formed a ring with the sapphire and diamonds, all three infused with energy so the spells would take effect. One diamond had a lock spell, to bind the other spells until the time was right, the oher diamond had an amplify spell to increase the pain of anything that touched her, even breathing. And the sapphire had a shadow spell, to bring Valerie to his cave, once he carved the right runes. This would be fun.
(I'm out again. That was fun. Time to kick Lin's tail.)

OCC -- This thread is now temporarily closed. It will be locked until we reopen it. It is different from an old thread because we just will get back to it in a little while and probably soon so no need to resurrect it IC -- "Nobody. Calls. Me. Drae. Nobody has for a hundred years, and nobody will." Valerie heard Draetrialis say. "Okay, if you don't want me to call you Drae, I know! I'll call you Trina!" She said as she saw him flare his wings and take to the sky. Once he disappeared from her keen sight, she slipped back into her human form, sure that she was safe, at least for the moment. Good, Trina left. I like that name, though I will not soon forget Steroid-Lizard...this may actually be fun, I've always wanted to have a real reason to fillet him. Well, better not let this fine breakfast go to waste. But that did bring up an unpleasant question; since he clearly he doesn't live here, how did he know [/i]exactly where to find her just then? But she didn't let that dwell on her as she ate more of her turnovers, savoring every bite. Once she had finished, she picked up the two plates and returned them to the kitchen to be washed. I still don't know how he found me...either way though, I have a book to read. With that she grabbed her bag (which contained her book) and headed to her room for some quiet reading. Even though the servants rarely bothered her in the gardens, she didn't want to take any chances today, she had a lot to think about and didn't want to be reminded of it just yet.
