A snarl formed on Veilince's face. He'd report her for sure for breaking an entry into one of his bases. When he had the chance to, he'd seal up his bases much better to keep out trespassers like that woman. Veilince ducked when a blast of darkfire nearly burned his head off. A bit of the hair on the back of his head was singed. When he saw the ring fly from her hand he snatched it quickly from the air. He checked it over quickly for any damage. If he found once scratch on that ring, he was going to kill that vampire. Once he was sure that it was unharmed, he put it back on his thumb where it belonged. His rage dropped a level.
The shadow scum had run away back into the lake. Once the dragon had entered the lake he vanished, invisibility no doubt. Although Veilince did not want anything more to do with the damn woman, he had to otherwise he might get fried. It was not the most ideal situation by far. Recklessly the woman made a flying leap only to likely waste an arrow and put herself in danger. Veilince faced the sun, the warmth flowed onto his skin and he could feel energy forming.
He walked towards a living tree where the roots penetrated the submerged sides of the lake. The sun was at the right angle so that Veilince was still in its shine when he touched the tree. He closed his eyes and focused. The tree roots in the water suddenly burst into life and started growing and weaving through the silt floor of the lake. When the roots found a large being tucked in the silt they grew around it grabbing it and holding it down. Sweat formed on Veilince's face and his cheeks paled from using some of his own energy as well as the energy given to him by the sun helped the tree extend its roots.
Finally Veilince pulled his hand from the tree. He wiped sweat off his forehead and tried to steady his breathing. He knew the roots wouldn't hold any dragon down for long, but it would stall them and give him an idea of where they were located. He sat down in the sunshine, trying to restore his energy. He looked at the woman with a most unhappy gaze and said, "You can probably see him now, she hurry up and shoot him already."

Drae withheld a growl as the roots wrapped around him. The shadow returned. "You should flee. You won't drive them off. Surely they will leave." A vein pulsed under Drae's "ear." He glared at the shadow, whom had dispersed. With a groan, he snapped the roots and rose out of the water again. "Leave my territory. That's all I ask now." He growled before turning and diving beneath the surface, heading for his cave. Perhaps a large shadow would do... Maybe the illusion of an army... He wondered if he had the gems to do it and went into his cave and curled around his trove, reaching out with his mind to locate any energized gems.
He located a few. It was only enough to create a quick illusion of a rider in the trees, but it should be enough to scare them off because they could be in danger. He quickly used the energy and formed a horseman shadow that flitted through the trees near the rebels, close enough that it would be noticed, but too far to be proven as an illusion. It faded once it reached a certain point out of sight. Leave in paranoia... LEAVE! he roared in his head.

Lily, on Veilince's request, had an arrow nocked and ready to fire when a movement out of the corner of her eye caught her attention. A short gasp escaped her lips as she realized it was a rider. Damn that Dragon, he probably called backup...if Ammon is trying to take over this neutral ground, they're toast. In her rage, she turned her ready arrow to the flitting figure. She drew her teeth back to reveal her fangs in a somewhat sadistic smile. "Bye-bye." She whispered as she released the arrow. It flew straight and true, right through the back of the rider.
Wait, I knew I was strong, but there's no way that was me who caused the arrow to fly straight through.... Then her eyes widened in realization when she had connected the two. "DRAGON! You get out here now!! I will personally slay you." She quickly grabbed the two knives she had at her side for preparing hunted animals.
"Veilince, you might want to draw your sword and join me if you can. I'm not going to let this stupid creature around much." She looked around and saw a plant that was deadly poisonous. At another one of her sadistic smiles, she carefully extracted a couple leaves from it and rubbed the juice along the blade edge as well as her arrow tips. This will do nicely, a good surprise for that gecko. She turned, ready to dive in when she noticed Veilince's state. Wow I'm stupid sometimes.
She loped over to him, wanting to know his condition. "Hmmm, here take this." She handed him some of the food she had been carrying around for a snack if she got hungry. It was a small but dense little loaf she had gotten from the market. She turned back to the lake, not wanting the Shadow to sneak up on her.

The sky was cloudless and the sun's rays shone brightly. Despite all of this, Veilince was still stuck in a most hated position of weakness and vulnerability. The damned woman was taking too bloody long for his liking. Suddenly pain coursed through Veilince's legs and he gritted his teeth to suppress a cry. The downside to using his own energy on a plant was how there was a short empathy link that lingered between him and the plant. Normally these side effects wouldn't occur, but Veilince thought he could have used a bit too much of his own energy on the tree. The roots of the trees were breaking and the damned Shadow raised his annoying voice and tried warding them off. "Hurry up and bloody shoot him already."
Movement flickered in the corner of Veilince's vision. With some effort he turned his head and saw a shadowy figure on horseback. Within seconds he figured out it was a fake. All Fey were taught how to make illusions that were so perfect you could swear they were real. However they were also taught how to detect illusions as well. Since Veilince was sitting on the ground he was in the perfect position to pick up any vibrations a horse's hooves would make upon contact with the ground, and in this case there were none.
Veilince glanced up at the woman only seeing her aiming her bow at the horseman. "It's a fa-" Unfortunately he was too late, the stupid woman fired her bloody arrow at the pathetically made illusion. Veilince started muttering curses under his breath as the bloody stupid woman shouted after the damned dragon. "Veilince, you might want to draw your sword and join me if you can. I'm not going to let this stupid creature around much." Veilince couldn't tell if he was about to roll his eyes or if his eye was about to twitch at the thick-headedness of the vampire.
The woman seemed to notice his current state and handed him what he thought at first was a rock. However upon closer inspection he realized it was a piece of bread or something along those lines. "Gee, thanks." He said with a small hint of sarcasm. Hesitating slightly, he took a small bite at the loaf. It was dry and barely had any taste to it, however Veilince forced himself to eat though he didn't exactly know why. "If you through dirt into the water, it'll show his outline and you can shoot him." Veilince said to the woman. His tongue felt dry after eating that loaf of what he assumed was bread. ooc: apologies for the delay.
