Rebellion Attack (Ceana)

Ceana watched the Shadow drop to the ground, crispy at the lightning. Uh oh, I'd better drop down too before I end up like that. So she slowly circled down, finally landing quite a ways away from her opponent to make sure he wouldn't grab her suddenly. But when she saw he was barely breathing, rage filled her.

That was supposed to be me killing him, not some freak lightning storm! No, I'll help him for now and then I'll kill him later. She resolved to herself. So she carefully walked over, being especially leery since her it was her opponent in front of her. "Don't worry, lizard, I'm not going to kill you. That lightning took that opportunity away from me and now I'm just going to wait. I want to be the one to kill you, not some freak lightning hit. So I'll just do some cursory patching up now..." She was shocked at the damage when she got closer.

"Oh, not good. Unless I get you back to the castle on Ammon ground, you probably won't last the night. Lightning is serious damage and when training we always say 'Lightning is bad news, and it doesn't matter who it is or when it happens, take the injured person in question to medical help.'. Now I don't want to disobey that rule so even though I could just drop you along the way, do you trust me enough to take you where you need to be?"

In fact, she didn't really care if he trusted her or not, she would carry him anyways. But it looked better (and he'd struggle less) if she got consent to take him to medical help. I think he's too big that if he struggled, I'd drop him for sure. She sighed to herself, knowing that she'd have to disobey this rule if he didn't want to be taken to the castle, since she couldn't hold a Shadow Dragon that was struggling in the air for long.

Drae glanced at Ceana. "No... I may be paralyzed... but I will survive... Get out of here... Tell your wing commanders that... This battle is over... I surrender... but I will regain the land that is lost... later... Tell my soldiers that I... said this..." he gasped before slowly twitching his muscles in time to the electricity still arcing over his body to curl up a little. "Just go... leave me... to my pain..." he muttered, wincing as a particular arc hit a sore spot. With that, he retreated into himself, closing off the entire world, and even his own body. Valerie... I'll be back... I swear...

In his own world, he was back home in the Shadowlands, supposedly before he left, though he was still grown up. "How...?" A couple shadows came up to him and said, "Drae! You're back!" The dragon blinked before looking around and saw Valerie, but she looked terrible, all chained up. "What happened to her?!" he cried, looking around at the other Shadows. "She tried to take you away again... to some place called Ammon." they replied. Drae growled. "You're all dead... This is just a horrid dream! Ammon is my home now...! Though the Shadowlands I call home, Ammon is my new home!" With that, his world faded like a painting hit by paint-thinner, and he slipped into blissful unconsiousness.

Ceana shook her head, pondering getting another Griffin and dragging the Shadow up to the Ammon castle regardless of what he had said. But if you don't, It's not your problem... So she simply shrugged and walked away from the twitching ball that used to be her arch-enemy.

With one final glaring look back she made herself a promise. Someday, Draetrialis, someday I will come and kill you. Mark my word, or die trying. So she whipped her head back and pushed off of the ground, going to tell her leaders the battle was over.

"Commander, the battle is over, Draetrialis got struck by lightning and is currently in a twitching ball on the field. He made a last comment that he surrenders. Should we press the border back further?" She nervously shifted her weight from one paw to another.

"No, there is no need. If we did, perhaps it could recoil on us and Ammon would start sending sabotage parties to our main camp. I'll just send one of younger Griffins to go and inform the Ammon army that their 'leader' surrenders. Go get some rest Ceana, you have done well today. You have given us hope for this war along with the knowledge that Ammon's toughest fighter can be defeated (even if by lightning)."

Ceana bowed at her greater, knowing any questions she had now would most likely not be answered. At least I've finally gotten recognition for something I've done. The thought as she took off, heading back to the Aerie to get some rest. Some long-awaited rest, indeed.
